Caroline Patterson

Caroline is a young, New York-based interior designer and home decor writer, obsessed with textiles and designer furniture. Backed with rigorous training from a prestigious design school, as well as a profound understanding of material quality and fabric care, she offers spot-on advice on how to furnish your place with reliable, functional, and aesthetically pleasing pieces.

Caroline has always been fascinated with beautiful things. In the pre-Pinterest days, she was already tearing pictures from magazines and creating her first mood boards, unaware of how far this innocent hobby will get her.

Her designer’s client list may not be extensive yet, but her writing portfolio surely is. In her senior year at FIT, Caroline started writing about residential interior design, trends, products, and hot names in the industry. Her pieces have been published in Furniture World Magazine, Array, Elle Decor, and many other magazines.

Caroline received her training at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, where she completed both an Associate in Applied Science (AAS) and a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) program in Interior Design. FIT's Interior Design programs are accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) and meet National Certification for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) Exam. Over the period of four years, Caroline mastered fundamental and advanced design techniques, from planning, lighting design, color selection, and furnishing, to application of the latest technologies and building conversion. She graduated in 2014.
