The total number of bottles you can fit in a wall mounted wine rack depends largely on the unit’s height and width and whether you can store the bottles horizontally or vertically.
Wall mounted wine racks with horizontal (or slightly angled) storage offer more space, with many pieces accommodating up to 20 standard wine bottles. However, if you only need short-term storage or have limited space, a wall mounted shelf or rack can hold between 6-10 bottles.
Some racks, such as novelty pieces or a rustic wall mounted rack, offer less storage space due to their unique design. Always check the manufacturer's specifications before purchasing to ensure you can accommodate your wine collection.

Start by measuring the distance between hanging points. Using a stud finder, locate a stud in the area you want to mount the wine rack. If none is present, you’ll need drywall anchors to mount the rack safely. Transfer your measurements to markings on the wall. Using a drill, make a hole in the drywall at the marked locations. If you’re not bolting the rack into a stud, ensure the hole you drill is big enough to accommodate the appropriate wall anchors.
Once you drill the holes, you can secure your wine rack to the wall with the proper hardware, such as wooden screws and toggle bolts.
