Buying Guide

The best material to choose for a kitchen island pot rack is cast iron. While pot racks are available in various materials like aluminum, steel and even plastic, cast iron is slightly heavier than steel and also more durable. Cast iron pot racks must be anchored into the ceiling or wall before you start hanging stuff on it. Also, consider a suitable location to hang up the pot rack considering its weight.

When measuring for a kitchen island pot rack, you should first consider how low you want the kitchen storage unit to be. Determine this by measuring the height of your ceiling and the average height of the people in your home that will be using the pot rack. Once you’ve made these measurements, add an extra 6”-10” to the height. This is to ensure you can reach the pots and pans when it is installed.

Also, when you are measuring the space for your kitchen island pot rack, you should consider the size of your island and the size of your pot rack. For example, if your kitchen island is small, opt for a pot rack that ⅔ the length of the island. This ensures that the pot rack doesn’t overwhelm the rest of the room and looks in proportion.
