Finding a cool way to stop your door from closing is an exciting little task to have on your list. There are some quirky and fun door stops out there which will definitely elicit comments from everybody who walks into the room. Here are some of the fun and cool door stops which will bring something a little different to your home.
The Witch's shoes
This is a very popular design for door stops, and is certainly among the coolest. Anybody who knows the story of The Wizard of Oz knows how Dorothy took the Wicked Witch's red shoes and went off on her adventure on the Yellow Brick Road to find the Wizard himself. The famous scene where the witch lies underneath the house with black and white striped tights and sparkling red shoes provides the inspiration for this cool door stop. Heavy enough to hold your door back, and angled just right to go underneath the door, any fan of musicals will be keen to get their heads on this.

Available in a wide range of designs, a popular door stop has emerged in the form of a small figure using his strength to try and keep the door open. The shape of the figure varies slightly, but may have one foot under the door and one foot positioned flat on the door as if he is pushing it open with his foot. Others have their feet firmly on the ground, but their hands are flat against the door to give the impression it is being held open. These figures are normally made from ceramic or a very thick and sturdy rubber.
Flamingo door stop
Flamingoes are currently a popular theme to have in your home, so if you're already latching on to this new craze, you might want to consider a flamingo door stop too. With the flamingo's feet able to slot neatly under the door and therefore keep it open, the most common material for this bird door stop is iron. It is a heavy material which looks stylish and simple when in your home. There is enough detail to easily identify the shape as a flamingo, although the color is most likely to be silver or black.

A single large leaf holding your door open is a more subtle and simple way to add a cool door stop to your home. This works particularly well if you already have a lot of floral and nature-themed items. The leaf is molded into the required shape, with the bottom part curving inwards to allow fixture to the door and the ability to hold it open. The curved design ensures that there are no harsh effects being given by this door stop. A similar design is a single flat leaf which is made of sturdy rubber or ceramic, and can be placed underneath the door at just the right thickness to prevent it from closing again.
