What we like: Good choice for a small-scale apartment or living room.

Although this modern reclining loveseat weighs only 88 lbs, it can support up to 440 lbs. The back of the loveseat has three reclining positions. You can adjust the metal brackets to change it from upright to slightly reclined to fully flat. It’s perfect for taking a nap in its flat position, but at 62.9” long by 42.5” wide isn’t the size of a regular mattress.

In order to assemble the loveseat, you’ll need to attach the arms and legs to the center part. The arms of the loveseat can be easily moved when you want to use it as a sleeper. Its light weight and versatile settings make it an excellent choice for a dorm room or first apartment.

What we like: This loveseat not only reclines but converts to a twin-sized sleeper.

What we don’t like: The cushions are very firm, which not everyone may find comfortable.

This surprising contemporary reclining loveseat disguises that it can convert from a loveseat into a recliner and then into a twin-sized bed. The loveseat reclines with a manual push-back mechanism. The seat back folds fully flat to create a comfortable extra bed.

The velvet fabric is very soft and comes in rose pink, gray or topaz green. Its compact size makes it great for small spaces, although you’ll need 70” of free space to extend the sleeper fully. It needs 13” of free space behind the sofa to recline.

This loveseat is made to order, so it will take longer to deliver than ready-made furniture. Each seat cushion is 22” deep, so you can comfortably slouch down even without using the recliner. The seat back cushions can be removed completely to give more room for taking a nap.

What we like: The manual reclining option is smooth and easy to recline.

What we don’t like: It takes significant force to close after reclining.

Durably built with comfort in mind, this modern recliner loveseat uses a side lever to bring up the full-length footrest. When the footrest is fully extended, you can push against the backrest to reach a 130° recline angle. At 46” wide, this loveseat is smaller than others.

The seat bench is one continuous cushion, so there’s no sagging in between two cushions. The seat back and headrest extend to 47.2 from the floor so you can fully rest your head and neck against them. Two handy storage pockets are located on each arm of the loveseat.

Once you assemble the loveseat, it needs to be placed 10-12 inches away from the wall to recline to the second setting. The reclining mechanism on this loveseat is not a wall-hugger. Once it is in its fully reclined position, it will take up 63” of space in the room.

Crafted with a metal and engineered wood frame, this modern reclining loveseat is wrapped in genuine leather and leather match upholstery. The cushions are filled with foam and supported by sinuous springs to help resist sagging over time. 

Although the loveseat is not designed to hug the wall when in the reclined position, you only need to place it five inches away from the wall for clearance. Each side of the couch has its own control buttons, and the seats recline independently. The headrests are also adjustable with power.
