However, you first need to inquire regarding local code requirements for the square footage a customer might need. You can ask a government agency like the fire department on the measurements including the right aisle width. The decision of the authorities can be influenced by how many exits you have in your venue. Of course, that's if you will be using the pub table in a restaurant. As soon as you've reviewed the regulations, you can then proceed to decide on the square footage you'll allot to each of your customers. Generally, you will need 18 inches of passage area in between the tables and chairs. But, if you want to accommodate wheelchairs, you need to create 36-inch aisles.
More importantly, consider the needs of your venue. A formal setting requires adequate room for a meal cart to pass for tableside service. A casual or even rowdy setting won't require bussing carts in clearing the tables.
- Rectangular - Rectangular pub tables are larger, but they're readily available. They're also the most traditional. Lengths can vary greatly, however, a regular pub table needs to measure at least 168 cm to work properly in accommodating six persons. As for the width, 92-107 cm is the standard.

You'll find a square pub table with dimensions of 36 inches up to 72 inches or 183 cm. A square, contemporary type of pub table celebrates a plywood theme with a natural finish.
- Oval - An oval pub table can either be a 78-incher or 96-incher length-wise with a width of 47 ¾ inches to 54 inches. Oval tables are excellent for smaller spaces as they ensure traffic flows easily.
- Round - A round pub table is an excellent choice especially for a social setting as it fosters lively conversation. Each person seated around the table can clearly see everyone else's faces. A round pub table can be as little as 62 cm or 2 ft in diameter. Of course, there are bigger models with the biggest having dimensions of 183 cm or 72 inches in diameter.
