Located on the picturesque high side of Gladesville, Dave and Libby's Gladesville House is a perfect fusion of timeless charm and modern functionality. Originally a Californian bungalow, this renovation project was envisioned to cater to the needs of a vibrant young family of five, capturing breathtaking views of gum trees and the tranquil expanse of the Harbour.

The essence of the brief was to craft a warm and inviting sanctuary for family gatherings and cherished moments. The architects retained the structure of the original bungalow and introduced a two-story addition at the rear, gracefully following the natural contours of the land. As a result, the existing pool and garden retained their pristine allure, seamlessly blending with the new architectural elements.

A standout feature of the redesign is the expansive covered balcony on the northwest side, thoughtfully designed to provide respite from the scorching summer sun while welcoming the gentle warmth of winter sun into the living areas. This strategic placement not only enhances the home's energy efficiency but also fosters a seamless connection between the indoors and outdoors, inviting inhabitants to bask in the beauty of nature throughout the year.
